Move aside, ladies—the men of Hollywood have arrived in style at the Oscars and have completely taken over the Red Carpet. Hosted by Neil Patrick Harris on Sunday, February 22, 2015, the 87th Academy Awards aired live on ABC and was a major success for men’s fashion! Since 2001, the Oscar ceremony has been held in Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre at Hollywood and Highland Center, just steps from the historic Chinese Theatre. Each year, the event has adorned the most prominent of male celebrities, defining new styles and trends for shows throughout the year
Blue Tuxes Invade The Oscars
This year, men’s fashion ruled the 87th Oscars Red Carpet ceremony which turned out lots of men in traditional trim tuxes, as well as shawl collars and skinny bow ties, a look reminiscent of Hollywood’s retro cool.
Yet, in a sea of black tuxedo’s there were a few brave men who took their stylist’s advice and tried something different. Actors like Eddie Redmayne (who wore Alexander McQueen), Ansel Elgort (adorned in Prada) and Miles Tellerstole (also adorned in Prada) arrived at the show all suited up in similarly dark blue tuxes gracing the Oscars red carpet.
Not all our favorite male celebs, brought dark colors to the Oscars Red Carpet this year, A+ actors such as Jeff Goldblum and Adrien Brody came to dazzled the Red Carpet crowd with matching white tuxes.
What Else Were They Wearing?
Despited those few in highlighted blue tuxes, their were others who stole the show at the red carpet. Some of those best in men’s fashion at the 2015 Oscars included Chris Pine in Giorgio Armani, legendary Michael Keaton in Ralph Lauren, actor Josh Hutcherson showcasing Ermenegildo Zegna, Singer Adam Levine decked out in Armani, actor Ethan Hawke in a custom Prada, actor Chris Pratt wearing Tom Ford, actor Channing Tatum wearing Dolce & Gabbana, musician John Legend draped in Gucci, actor Jared Leto daring it all in Givenchy white and our beloved actor Chris Evans strutting about in his Gucci best.
